When it comes to social media's impact on society, there are lots of pros and cons to its effects. The power of social media has caused lots of people to begin to think and or act differently towards things that's going on in this world. It has the ability to distract people from things such as school work, work, news and even responsibilities they may have at home or elsewhere. On the other hand social media could also be good with keeping everyone who has social networks informed on daily news. Whether it is a natural disaster, tragic events with shootings, violence, spread of diseases and lots of other things that happens. Distractions from things that actually matters in the real world is something that could most likely turn out to become a very bad thing. One example that is actually trending is cyber bullying, there are different generations in this world, but the younger ones seem to be effected the most by social networks. Majority of the younger people who own social networks accounts tend to do things to not only express who they really are and accept themselves but they do and or show things to impress others. This could cause them to even begin the stage of cyber bullying others because it is a lot easier to do so over the internet which could have an impact on that student's academics or even others. On the other hand there are actually some good things that social media has done to help our society. For instance communication is very imperative in today's society whether it is for business or just to communicate just because. People would have a better chance to get in contact with someone that could be helpful with something for their career, collaborate for school, talk to others from different locations around the world and even catching up with old friends. Networking and knowing more people could be an helpful thing especially for those who are looking for a career. They could get into contact with someone they know about that certain job and maybe get some help on who to contact and when. There could be many debates on whether social media is either effecting today's society in a negative way or a positive way.
